May Long Weekend
This past weekend, my boyfriend and I decided to take a road trip down to Minneapolis, MN. It is one of our favorite places to visit and each time we go, we find a new hidden gem. Chino Latino offers delicious street food from different hot zones. It's the tropical belt that extends from the Caribbean to the Americas to Polynesia, on to Southeast Asia, India, Africa and back again. There is a power of their flavors, the emphasis on freshness and their embrace of ingredients and cooking styles common to the Hot Zones.
As always when we dine, everything we order is shared. Tonight we got the Korean Bulgogi lettuce cup, which was grilled and marinated kobe beef with red onion, rice, ginger-scallion, kimchee and ssamjang. It was so delicious, some of the best lettuce wraps i've ever had. From there we ordered JC's Dirty Spicy Roll, a local favorite, this inside-out roll was filled with tempura shrimp, cilantro, avocado, cucumber and bacon, topped with a serrano-chile crab salad. It was so delectable and fresh. We ended off the evening with an order of the Tostada De Tinga, smokey and spicy chicken served on a crisp tostadas with queso fresco, sour cream, radish and lettuce and the Lamma Island Salty Squid, South China Sea-style with spicy pepper salt.
What a great experience it was, we can't wait to go back!
